8I

#12. Attend a talk or lecture on campus. Note the date, time, location, name of the speaker, topic of the talk, and 3 interesting points made, and also post a photo.

I attend Western Civilization history lecture class on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Englemen C112 at 11:00-12:15 P.M. with one hundred kids.  It is taught by Professor Chrissidis.  The whole course is very interesting and is about Ancient Greece.  We are quizzed every other Friday on Blackboard, which is a website that is connected through the Southern website.  This quizzes are usually twenty questions within a time limit of thirty minutes.

The lectures are usually very interesting and many students are enrolled in this class.  Professor Chrissidis shows many interesting Power Points with photographs attached to show how life was like back then in Ancient Rome.

Professor Camille Serchuk was a guest speaker last week and talked about artistic expression in Egypt and classical Greece.  Professor Troy Paddock came in this week and talked about early and classical Greece. The lectures they gave were very fascinating as the Power Point slides showed various sculptures and statues of Greek art.  These speakers are both experts in historic art and architecture and shared their knowledge with our class.  We were very lucky to have them attend our lecture and it brought the history lesson to life for us.
