"The New Me"
I can’t believe four weeks of my first college semester have passed.  At this point, I have a good idea about what is working for me and what isn’t working for me.  I think I should work on my study habits for quizzes by creating index cards into flash cards for vocabulary words.  My media studies class has many vocabulary words which can be difficult so I will create flash cards and review them before a quiz or test.  The Time Study assignment for Inquiry class helped me see my scheduling and time management on a daily basis over the past week.  As shown on my chart, I spend a lot of time working on my homework in my dorm.  I also spend time on the sorority rush events and those who are picked will find out this week.  Finding out whether or not I am chosen will also affect my schedule.  If I am chosen, I will spend a great deal of time involved with the sorority doing charity events as well as other event planning.

The transition to college is overwhelming for many students, but I am getting used to it and enjoy it very much here.  I love it here at Southern Connecticut State University and I am so happy that I chose Southern.  For the next twelve weeks, I need to focus on keeping up good study habits but continue to improve by acknowledging my professor’s constructive criticism on assignments.  I need to be sure to follow all rubrics and all directions in order to receive higher grades in all of my classes. Overall, I have learned from my mistakes and will do differently next time on future assignments.  I am going to set goals for myself for maximum success here in college, such as spending even more time on homework and asking for help from professors when needed.  My first college semester is going by so quickly and soon all of the students will be busy preparing for midterm examinations.  I need to set good study habits so I am well prepared for my midterms.  Also, I need to push myself and set challenges for myself to be a "new me."
