Where Did The Time Go?
Over the course of an entire week from Thursday, September 19,
2013, through Wednesday, September 29, 2013, my Inquiry class had an assignment
to track down the hours of the day and create a chart of the activities done
during each hour. The time study chart
enabled me to see my habits over a span of time and what I do throughout the
day. It showed me how I spend my time
here at Southern and what I need to keep doing, and what to do
differently. Every week I spend fifteen
hours in class and this week I spent thirty-eight hours on homework. A student should spend about six hours on
homework and studying outside of the classroom so I am spending the appropriate
amount of time on my assignments. Homework
and sleeping take up a lot of my time because I need to ensure that I earn good
grades at school. I tend to do my
homework and assignments as soon as they are assigned because I set times to do
it in advance so I can have social time on the weekend. I spent Monday night attending a sorority
event and Friday night I attended the Southern Connecticut State University
Football Game. I like spending time with
family and friends on the weekends.
I will continue to manage my time in a more beneficial way to
maximize my productivity. I learned a
good lesson from the Time Study assignment because it showed me the bigger
picture of a typical week here for me at Southern. This assignment helped me apply a schedule to
the rest of the semester and my college years because now I know how I spend my
time and what to do differently. After examining the chart, I realized I do
spend a lot of time on homework and I also have balanced social time. I believe that this assignment can be
beneficial to any person in life, not just a student because it can help
someone to spend their time more constructively.
